Install and start your first game

1. Download the installer using the button above, then open the SPYRO file once the download finishes.
2. Follow the installation steps and open the app. SPYRO is the name of the Windows release of RetroApp.
3. Add the folder containing your own games to the library and run a scan. Keep files belonging to the same game together.
4. Read the guide for your console for file formats and any required BIOS. Start with one game before changing optional settings.

What you need

A 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 PC, storage for the installation and your collection, and your own game files. Performance depends on the emulated console, game, and computer. Games and BIOS files are not included.

macOS, Linux, and browser play

This release does not yet include macOS or Linux installers. To try selected consoles without an installation, explore browser play. The .exe installer does not run natively on Mac, Linux, or mobile.

About this beta

RetroApp is in active development. Netplay remains experimental and has not yet been validated between two PCs over the Internet. The download and local library are free; connected services are described in the plans.
